I stayed at this OYO recently and honestly came away surprised in a good way. A lot of people hear “OYO” and immediately expect the absolute bare minimum, but this location was noticeably better than many other OYO hotels I’ve stayed at or seen online. For the price point, it was genuinely a solid experience. The first thing I noticed was how clean everything was. The room smelled fresh when I walked in, the floors and bathroom were well maintained, and the bed linens looked clean and properly cared for. That alone already put it ahead of many budget hotels. The atmosphere was also much more pleasant than expected. It didn’t feel sketchy or run down, and I actually felt comfortable relaxing in the room after a long day. The staff was polite and check in was straightforward without any unnecessary hassle. The overall property seemed reasonably maintained and quiet enough to get good rest at night. Obviously this is still a budget hotel, so don’t expect luxury resort amenities, but for what you pay, it delivers far more than expected. Compared to many other OYO properties, this one stands out in a positive way because it feels cleaner, calmer, and more professionally managed. If you’re looking for an affordable place to stay without feeling uncomfortable or grossed out, this OYO is honestly a pretty good choice.

Wonderful experience staying at Oyo in Portage, IN. Was expecting a normal continental breakfast with waffles and eggs, bagels and such. The window in my room was broken.
